Step 2. User setup and security
The security of our data is extremely important to us. It is mandatory for all new users to activate Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) the first time they log into Snowflake.
Multi-factor Authentication setup using the DUO app
- Log into Snowflake with the user name and password provided via email.
- Upon logging in, you will be asked to change the password.
- Click on 'Settings' on the bottom left, and then 'Authentication'. Next click on 'Add new MFA method', and then 'Duo'. From there, follow the instructions on how to proceed.
- Provide a valid phone number and download the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone.
- To find Duo Mobile in the mobile store, you can either scan the QR code with your smartphone, click on the QR code, or search manually.
- Choose the MFA (Multi-factor Authentication) method and follow the instructions.
